Steve Prewitt, AI Operating Partner, joined New Mountain Capital in 2026. He works across the portfolio on AI strategy and value creation, partnering with management teams to identify, prioritize, and execute AI initiatives, and supporting the firm’s evaluation of AI opportunity and risk at acquisition targets.
Prior to New Mountain, Mr. Prewitt was Global Lead of Applied AI at Genpact, where he led the AI Value Studio and directed enterprise AI strategy and agentic delivery for Fortune 500 clients across healthcare, life sciences, and financial services. He joined Genpact through its acquisition of XponentL Data, where he was a co-founding executive and served as Chief Data and AI Officer.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Prewitt was Global Head of Digital Innovation for the Roivant family of companies, building an innovation platform and asset portfolio across 18 subsidiaries that was exited to Sumitomo Pharma for $1 billion, and subsequently served as SVP, Head of Digital Innovation and Data at Sumitomo Pharma America. As Chief Analytics Officer at Healthfirst, he built the health plan’s data engineering, data science, and cloud functions. He began his career in technology and portfolio leadership roles at Charles River Laboratories and Pfizer.
Mr. Prewitt received his BSBA from Avila University and an MBA from the Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis.
