Sastry Chilukuri leads the Emmes Group, a science-forward organization dedicated to advancing public health and biopharmaceutical innovation globally, as Executive Chairman and CEO. The Emmes Group combines two business units, Emmes, a Clinical Research Organization, and Veridix AI, a newly launched technology and analytics provider. Emmes CRO has a rich 47-year history of scientific excellence with industry leading capabilities in ophthalmology, cell and gene therapy, vaccines and infectious diseases, rare disease, and neuroscience. Veridix AI provides the technology backbone and generative AI platform that has been purpose built for clinical research. Bringing these two units together ensures both the development of technology and AI infrastructure for clinical research, and adoption of those capabilities by retooling CRO processes to embed technology and AI into the full-service offering provided to clients.
Chilukuri has more than 23 years of experience in the healthcare technology field. As a partner in McKinsey’s life sciences and digital practices, he supported large multi-year digital and AI transformations at biopharmaceutical, medical device and public sector clients. At GE Healthcare, he was in several product development roles. Most recently, he was co-CEO of Medidata Solutions, a Dassault Systemes company, and provider of cloud-based clinical research software. Chilukuri also was the founder and President of Acorn AI (renamed Medidata AI), Medidata’s data science business. Chilukuri holds a master’s of business administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a bachelor’s of technology from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).
