ARLINGTON, VA, October 21, 2002 – Strayer Education, Inc. (Nasdaq: STRA – News), the parent company of 110-year old Strayer University, was selected as one of the 200 best small companies by Forbes magazine. This is the fifth consecutive year Strayer Education (http://www.strayereducation.com) was recognized by Forbes in the national ranking.

Strayer Education is ranked 49th this year, moving up from last year’s 103rd place. Forbes will publish the list of 200 best small companies in the magazine’s October 28, 2002 issue.
