Qualus is a leading pure-play provider of engineering and technical field services to utilities and electric power grid infrastructure. The business is the largest employer of Protection & Control (“P&C”) engineers and technicians in the U.S. and provides highly specialized services focused on transmission & distribution assets across the power grid, as well as power equipment at commercial & industrial sites, including data centers.

New Mountain identified Qualus as part of its multi-year “deep-dive” sector initiative in infrastructure and utility services, and had been tracking the company since 2018. New Mountain was able to leverage its expertise in the sector to become Qualus’s partner of choice and closed the acquisition in March 2021.
