Sunil Mishra, Managing Director, joined New Mountain in 2009. Most recently, he was a Managing Director at CCMP Capital Advisors and its predecessor firm, J.P. Morgan Partners from 2004 until 2009, where he was responsible for working closely with its portfolio companies to drive improvements in business performance. During this period, Mr. Mishra worked on several pre-acquisition due diligences and also with a large number of portfolio companies to improve their profitability. He has several years of experience in business performance transformation at companies in a wide range of industries, including services, telecom & high-tech, aerospace & defense and pharmaceuticals. Mr. Mishra was at McKinsey and Company until 2004, where he was a leader of the firm's performance transformation practice. Prior to McKinsey, he served in a leadership role in A.T. Kearney's operations practice. His consulting work at both firms focused on helping clients achieve operational excellence by making improvements across multiple elements of the supply chain, including purchasing, product development, sales, marketing, finance, and services. Mr. Mishra has significant operating experience gained from over 10 years ('88-'98) with GE in various operational leadership roles in engineering, services, and product development. Mr. Mishra received his BSME in 1977 from India, his MSME in 1978 from Polytechnic Institute of New York, worked toward his Ph.D. (all but dissertation completed) at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and earned his MBA from the University of Chicago in 1996.
